Cake Decorating 102

Now that you have learned the foundations of cake decorating with our Cake Decorating 101 class, let’s build upon your skills by learning how to pipe a basket weave effect and create buttercream flowers. Similar to our Cake Decorating 101 class, we will spend some time practicing our buttercream techniques before attempting to pipe directly onto our cakes.  We will cover the correct piping pressures and angles for achieving the perfect flower petals.

This class will cover how to pipe a variety of flowers, including roses, pansies, apple blossoms and daffodils.

After learning the new piping techniques, the class instructor will demonstrate how to create a pleasing floral arrangement. Students will use the flowers they made during the class to create their own unique arrangement.

All of the tools and materials required for the class will be provided in your class kit.

In addition, this class requires the use of a turntable. If you do not have one, we recommend that you purchase one. For a list of the turntables that we have available in our supply store, click here.

Prerequisites: This class will build upon the skills and techniques that were covered in our Cake Decorating 101 class.

Tools and Skills covered: Piping techniques that we will cover in this class include creating basket weave patterns and piping a variety of flowers and leaves.
